Most customers are added as you write their first quote. To add one on their own, use New customer.
Customer types
| Type | Use it for |

| Retail | Private car owners. |
| Dealer / trade | Dealerships and used-car lots. |
| Insurer | Insurance work. |
| Fleet | Company vehicles. |
| Panel beater | Work you do for panel shops. |
Anything other than Retail also takes a business name and VAT number. Each type gets its default price list automatically; choose a specific Price list only if this customer has agreed rates.
Finding a customer
Search Customers by name, phone or registration — for a registration, leave out the spaces. Filter by type, sort by name or date added, and Export the list.
The customer page
- What they owe, how they're billed, payment terms, and whether they accept marketing.
- Their cars. Add a vehicle adds another.
- Tabs for their quotes, jobs and invoices.
- New quote starts a quote with them already chosen.
Changing their details
Press Edit details at the top of the customer page. You can change who they are (type, name, business name, VAT number), how to reach them, their address, and how they pay: Billing (per job or monthly statement), Payment terms in days, their Price list and private Notes. Empty a box and save to take that detail off.
Archiving
Under Record and privacy, Archive takes a customer out of search and new quotes without deleting anything. Restore brings them back.
